Michael's Home for the Aged, and the check was received by Fr. Luke,
(in the absense of His Grace, Bishop Andonios, the Director of the
Home)

About the Philoptochos
Philoptochos, literally meaning "friend of the poor", is one of the oldest philanthropic organizations of the Church. The mission of Philoptochos is to promote charitable, benevolent and philanthropic assistance to the poor, the umemployed, the destitute, the hungry, the aged, the sick, the orphaned and to others who may need assistance. The Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society is the nation's second largest non-profit woman's organization in the country and is the philanthropic arm of the Greek Orthodox Church. Our chapter contributes to national, diocesan, community and local charities.
St. Anna's Philoptochos was established in St. Paul's on January 20,1948. Over the many years we have contributed to: St. Basil's Academy, Social Services, Autism Funds, St. Photios Shrine, St. Michael's Home for the Aged, Make A Wish Foundation, OCMC, Hellenic College of Holy Cross, IOCC,OCF, Cancer Funds,Ecumenical Patriarchate, UNICEF and many medical funds.
On a national level, Philoptochos has donated more than eight million dollars to charities since January 2001. You can join our chapter for a donation of $30. a year. Men are welcome to join as associate members.
