Alex Orphanos is the Pastoral Assistant at the Cathedral of Saint Paul. In his role, Alex supports the day-to-day operations of the Cathedral and serves as the assistant to the clergy. He also is the assistant chanter and nursery school/youth director, overseeing all youth programs including Little Angels, HOPE, JOY, Jr. GOYA and GOYA including Athletics.

Alex joined the Cathedral of Saint Paul family in August 2016. A native of Westwood, Mass., Alex grew up in the Metropolis of Boston and credits his love for youth ministry to his experience as a camper and counselor for many years at the Metropolis of Boston Camp.

Prior to graduating seminary, Alex worked in several churches as a youth worker, later in Sales and helped manage his family’s restaurant business.

Alex graduated from Hellenic College in 2011 with a Bachelor’s in Religious Studies and minor in Management and received his Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in 2016. He married his wife Patricia in May 2018. Together they enjoy being active members of the community, especially working with the youth programs.
